“Each of us is born with a certain amount of personal power that we rebuild everyday after we rest”
Don Miguel Ruiz
I crave peace of mind and being centered. I know when my energy levels are low and even worse, off. I feel on edge, I have food cravings and I may even snap at my loved ones. I know exactly what I need. A vacation. A week away from work and the seemingly endless responsibilities of adulthood. The chance to sleep in late, Lay on the beach and let the sun soothe me while the ocean water rocks me…Yeah, that’s not gonna happen. Not right now. So what’s my next best option? Reset at home. And I can do it in just one evening. It may not be as lovely as a beach vacation but it damn sure will correct this bad, funky energy that’s permeated my magical aura.
Communicate with your tribe
I’m guilty of snapping at my man or child when I’m irritated, and afterwards I feel so awful. They do not deserve to be on the receiving end of my negative, heavy energy. They deserve the best of me. And I apologize. I will readily admit to them that I’m having a rough time and apologize for the mistreatment. It’s usually followed by a hug that immediately lifts my mood. It’s important to always communicate with those you love and apologize when you’re wrong. Don’t release your venom on them only to have them release it back on you later. End it and hug it out.
Bad vibes out, Good vibes in
Open up the windows and let that stale air that’s been sitting there collecting all your energies, out. Even in the winter when the temperature drops below freezing, I always have a window slightly open. It’s important to circulate the air in your environment. The crisp cool air or light breeze will carry those bad vibes right out the window. Burn incense, sage or Palo Santo. The aromas have a calming effect on the nerves. It lifts your mood and helps to cleanse you of your negative energy.

I make it a habit to fast from social media periodically. Even unplugging for the evening has great benefits. You aren’t being bombarded with the myriad of opinions on the latest mind numbing trending topic. It’s mentally and spiritually draining to engage on social media at times. Save some of the funniest memes to your phone and give yourself a chance to step back into reality; your world, your life, your thoughts.
Showers are convenient. Baths not so much. That means I have to clean the tub out first, then run the water and when I’m finished, clean the tub out again. Ain’t nobody got time for that! But it’s so worth it when you need to reset. Add some spiritually cleansing herbs like hyssop or an epsom salt/Himalayan salt mixture to your bath water, light some white tea light candles or a white pillar candle. White candles are lit to manifest healing, purification and light. Exactly what one needs to reset. As you lay, visualize the the worries, cares and negativity sloughing off from your body. A tip I received from a spiritual advisor was to not dry off When you’re done. Let your body air dry.
It’s not the Luxury Grand Bahia Princpe in Jamaica, but you’ll feel lighter and centered in just one evening. Love and Light to you all 💕 love, and light ✌🏾
